This Week
This week, the House will meet for legislative business beginning on Tuesday, September 20th. Scheduled for consideration is legislation relating to autism research, appropriations for Fiscal Year 2012, and transparency in regulatory analysis. On Wednesday, September 21st, the Subcommittee on Capital Markets & Government Sponsored Entities will hold a hearing to examine small business capital formation and the Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary & Secondary Education will hold a hearing on keeping the education system accountable to parents. On Thursday, September 22nd, the Education & the Workforce Committee will examine favoritism by the National Labor Relations Board and the Science, Space & Technology Committee will hold a hearing on NASA. Scheduled for consideration is legislation relating to funding for the Federal Aviation Administration, community living assistance programs, and war memorials. On Tuesday, January 24th at 8:35 p.m., the House and Senate will meet for a joint session to receive the President’s State of the Union Address. Biggert will be hosting meetings with local residents and business leaders, touring manufacturing facilities and participating in community events.
