The Facts About HR3200, The Democrats’ Health Care “Reform” Bill Will Force Millions of Americans Out Of Their Current Coverage Up to 114 million Americans will be compelled to enroll into a government-run health plan, according to nonpartisan experts. Cuts Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare spending, affecting millions of seniors. Increases premiums for Medicare Part B and Part D. Abolishes the private market for individual health insurance. Will Put New Government Bureaucrats Between Doctors and Patients Creates 53 new boards, bureaucracies, commissions, or programs. Contains no prohibitions on federal bureaucrats denying access to life-saving treatments for patients. Taxes individuals who cannot afford coverage, or do not purchase "bureaucrat-approved" health plans. Imposes government standards under Medicare for end-of-life counseling services. Will Kill Jobs According to a model developed by President Obama's chief economic advisor, up to 5.5 million jobs will be lost. According to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), new tax increases on businesses, including small businesses "could reduce the hiring of low-wage workers" and lead to lower wages for all workers. Imposes a total of $818 billion in new taxes. Will Raise Health Care Costs, Not Lower Them The nonpartisan CBO has stated that the House Democrat bill would INCREASE rising health costs. Creates, extends, or expands 33 federal entitlement programs. Will Add Over A Trillion Dollars to the Deficit CBO estimates Democrat proposals will result in between $1 and $1.6 trillion in new federal spending. Would increase the deficit by at least $239 billion—and budget gimmicks would add hundreds of millions more. The bill "would probably generate substantial increases in federal budget deficits" in future decades, according to CBO.
Judy’s Commonsense Solutions End Waste, Fraud, And Abuse Pass the Medicare Fraud Prevention and Enforcement Act, which will strengthen the Medicare enrollment process, expand certain standards of participation, and reduce erroneous payments. Medicare loses over $10 billion a year in improper payments. Medical Malpractice Liability Reform Eliminate wasteful defensive medicine practices by enacting reasonable limits on frivolous medical lawsuits. Insurance Reforms Allow Americans to shop in state and regional plan finders where they can purchase the plan that best meets their needs. All plans should meet strict disclosure requirements so buyers know what is in the plan they are purchasing. Incentives for Prevention and Wellness Allow employers to offer premium discounts and other incentives for participants in voluntary wellness programs. Help for Individuals with Pre-Existing Conditions Ensure that all Americans have access to health insurance through a Universal Access Program. This state or regional plan will utilize a public-private partnership to provide affordable coverage for the sickest Americans. Make Existing Programs More Efficient Encourage states to enroll the neediest Americans in Medicaid and SCHIP first. 11 million Americans are eligible for these programs but not enrolled. Encourage Health Care Savings Expand eligible uses of Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). Empowering Americans to take responsibility for their everyday health needs will lower premiums and limit overutilization. Level the Playing Field Allow small businesses to join together to buy health insurance at the same discounted rates that larger companies can through Association Health Plans. Americans who buy individual plans should receive the same tax treatment as corporations. Keep the Government from Standing between You and Your Doctor Prevent government bureaucrats from denying access to life-saving treatments on cost grounds and permit Americans to choose the health care provider that best fits their needs.
