Statement of U.S. Rep. Judy Biggert on the Shooting Death of Bolingbrook Soldier in Fort Hood Tragedy

Washington, DC – U.S. Representative Judy Biggert (R-IL-13th) today issued the following statement regarding the death of Army Private First Class Michael Pearson, 21, of Bolingbrook who was killed tragically during a shooting incident at Fort Hood in Texas:

“My heart goes out to the family of Michael Pearson and all those who lost loved ones during the senseless shooting that occurred yesterday at Fort Hood.  Nothing can truly prepare you for a tragedy like this, especially when the lives of such dedicated young men and women are cut short by unthinkable violence right here on American soil.  Private First Class Pearson served his country with distinction and honor, and his life and sacrifice will be remembered always -- in Bolingbrook and around the nation.  To his parents and family, I offer my deepest thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.”
